Map the Gaps

Mapping the gaps in the 'official' regional cycleway networks of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

This 'Map the Gaps' effort is for highlighting problematic areas with the official R regional networks as nominated by City of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie City Council so we can advocate more strongly to "complete the network" as per the their cycling plans, with priority at least given to the sections marked in RED on the maps.

Legend

• RED = most problematic sections, which riders of low confidence do not want to use at all

• ORANGE = problematic section, but low confidence riders will use sometimes, such as if rider with a more experienced rider 

• YELLOW = slightly problematic section, such as a non-signalised or unprotected crossing

• GREEN = no significant issues for riders of all abilities

• PURPLE = yet to be detailed, or area closed for construction
